As a mechanic and auto repair shop owner, I have seen some seriously "OVER INFLATED PRICES" on brake jobs. Nobody should have
to pay these prices, I want you to be able to do the work yourself or at least know enough to keep you from paying too much when having
someone else do the work for you.
This information is provided to you absolutely FREE, and registration is free too!
Before
starting any auto repair job there are safety tips to consider before getting started, the last thing you want to do is end up getting
injured. That would definately be a step in the wrong direction, not to mention the cost of an emergency room visit...OUCH! There
is a right way and a wrong way of doing things, I have included a few photo's here for you to consider.
From time to time I will
recommend products that will help you to change your brake pads yourself such as specialty tools used for changing brake pads, brake
shoes, brake master cylinders, brake wheel cylinders, and more.
There are also brake pads that I recommend as well as the
ones I don't, whether you do the brakes yourself or pay someone to do it, you should know what the differences are. There are several
types of materials used in the manufacture of brake pads and brake shoes today, Organic brake pads are what replaced the old
asbestos brake pads which were banned in the USA because asbestos was found to cause health issues such as cancer. Then there
is semi metalic brake pads these pads are part organic and part metal, two grades are available at most parts supply houses. Ceramic
brake pads are also available today. and offer many benefits over conventional organic or semi metalic brake pads.
