Automotive repair shop owner and ASE certified master technician shares with you FREE step by step instructions on changing brake pads, brake shoes, master cylinders, wheel cylinders and other automotive brake components.

This information is FREE for registered users,  As a registered user  you will also get access to videos on how to change brake pads and other maintenance tips. All this information is brought to you "FREE of CHARGE", not like other sites that charge for membership or charge you to ask the mechanic a question.

With the information provided you will be able to confidently change the brake pads on your car, and with the money you save you will be able to take the family out for dinner, and maybe even a movie too!

As a mechanic and auto repair shop owner, I have seen some seriously "OVER INFLATED PRICES" on brake jobs. Nobody should have to pay these prices, I want you to be able to do the work yourself or at least know enough to keep you from paying too much when having someone else do the work for you.

This information is provided to you absolutely FREE, and registration is free too!

Before starting any auto repair job there are safety tips to consider before getting started, the last thing you want to do is end up getting injured. That would definately be a step in the wrong direction, not to mention the cost of an emergency room visit...OUCH! There is a right way and a wrong way of doing things, I have included a few photo's here for you to consider.

From time to time I will recommend products that will help you to change your brake pads yourself such as specialty tools used for changing brake pads, brake shoes, brake master cylinders, brake wheel cylinders, and more.

There are also brake pads that I recommend as well as the ones I don't, whether you do the brakes yourself or pay someone to do it, you should know what the differences are. There are several types of materials used in the manufacture of brake pads and brake shoes today, Organic brake pads are what replaced the old asbestos brake pads which were banned in the USA because asbestos was found to cause health issues such as cancer. Then there is semi metalic brake pads these pads are part organic and part metal, two grades are available at most parts supply houses. Ceramic brake pads are also available today. and offer many benefits over conventional organic or semi metalic brake pads.

Check out our parts store, for deep discounts on all your automotive parts needs.
All of the links above will take you to pages that explain the subject in more detail.
Remember that registered members also get updates on other automotive maintenance tips and tricks to save you money on your auto repair costs.

For the "Do IT Yourself" people out there, I have a books section with recommended reading and instructions. These resources will change as new and improved information becomes available, My goal is to help you by sharing the information and wisdom I have gained over the last 30+ years as an automotive repair professional.
